Modern Pilates is a contemporary and functional approach to Pilates exercise. The aim is to stretch and strengthen and have improved posture, muscle balance. We look for correct alignment in standing, seated, side lying, supine and prone position. We all need a spinal mobility programme. The sessions are on the mat with use of small equipment, balls, handweights, balance blocks, the pilates ring and bands.
